Food Prices and the Cost of Living

The Wairoa Star would like to know your thoughts on food prices for this year. This includes, supermarket prices, take-aways prices, local dairy prices etc.

Vote YES or NO

Do you believe that food prices are too high to afford alongside other essential costs of living.

'Essentials costs of living' refers to the following:

Home Expenses (mortgages, property taxes, rent and home insurance), Basic Necessities (vitamins, toiletries, cleaning tools and first aid supplies), Healthcare payments ( long-term medication, over-the-counter medication and the cost of visiting the doctor) and Transport expenses (car rental bills, car loan repayments, petrol money, public transport fares, Uber costs and bike maintenance fees).

Also, don't be shy to comment and let us know how you and your whanau have been managing with food costs, if you have had to start making cuts to your typical shop for food, how and, why? Or, perhaps, what food items you would like to see drop a dollar or two to fit into your budget?

Lastly, if you would like to comment further on keeping up with food costs, the Wairoa Star welcomes you to share your story at editorial@wairoastar.co.nz
All names will be kept in confidence.
