I was a newly single mom adjusting to one income, and my crappy window unit died at the beginning of summer in the year Covid started. Thanks to Covid, it was slim pickings for a new one. I bought the only unit I could find in stock with the same BTU and paid way too much for it! I’m in an all-original Levittowner (rare, I know…lol) and this unit is to cool my whole house. But it barely cools a 3ft radius, spits out ice pellets, and drains electricity like crazy. It is much heavier than the unit it replaced and requires make-shift support so it doesn’t break my window frame. It’s too heavy for me to take in and out, so drafty during the winter. Our bedrooms are not within the 3ft radius, so are too hot to get a restful night’s sleep. A mini-split system would make this momma so happy! #TeamSleeplessInSummer (Susan Gregory)

We’re gonna need a bigger fan! Our AC is just a bunch of fans and windows wide open. Baby needs air conditioning- sugar melts :) #TeamBabyFever (Jennifer Kelly)
25-year-old central AC system. Condensing unit motor contactor is noisy and wakes up the neighbors when starting. Housing is warped and missing screws. Unit is filled with obsolete ozone-harming refrigerant R-22 which will eventually leak out to atmosphere as the system ages, if not recovered as part of a professional system upgrade. #TeamOutWithTheOld (James Winward)
S.O.S. - Save Our System!! My heating system is best suited for the bench - it's outdated, overworked, and ready for retirement! In need of a new key player - a more efficient and reliable system to keep things hot when it's cold! Not pictured: Rusty old oil tank, ready for replacement. #TeamSOS (Ann Marie Gunshore)
This is a big giant dinosaur. It is over 50 years old if not 60. It has had lots of work to it over the years. I think it's time for a replacement. #TeamPrehistoric (Kathie Anderson)
