It would be a total blessing to have a new unit installed because of a few reasons. Our gas boiler is 58 years old, which scares me that it will go at any time, my husband and I both have medical issues that are ongoing, our grandkids live in our home, and it would just make us feel much safer. Our home is never leveled right with the heat. We have to use space heaters. Sometimes it doesn't even feel like our heat is working. We have to use too many window units in the summer which raises our bill too high. My son's room is like an ice box in the winter I feel bad letting him sleep in there. I remember I fell asleep in my son's room one time with a quilt plus a heating blanket and I was still freezing. Even our bathroom is sooo cold that I have to run a space heater which is dangerous just so we can shower. We always wanted to get a unit but can't afford one. I'm a customer of ECI, my heating source is fuel oil and I burn wood as a heating source for the winter because I can't afford the fuel oil bills of $500 /m or more. I'm a senior on fixed income and I am no longer physically able to handle the wood, between hauling, splitting, and stacking. My house is nearly 60 years old and is not air conditioned except for an old window air conditioner in the bedroom. I have lived in my house for 38 years and accepted the summer heat until now. However, I am getting older and the heat is too much in the summer at this point. I would love to have a mini-split ductless AC to replace the old window AC so I will be able to sleep at night.
