Sexual Assault and Sexual Harm at RMIT

RUSU is calling on RMIT to implement the following:

  • Establish a specialist unit, staffed by violence prevention and response experts, to investigate, case-manage and support victims of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harm (SASH) at RMIT.
  • Provide ongoing support to students who experience SASH to aid them in continuing with their studies.
  • Prioritise the psychological and physical safety of students who experience SASH.
  • Overhaul of the current Sexual Harm Policy suite to increase transparency and accessibility.
  • Consistent decision making, with decisive action and clear consequences for perpetrators.

We need to show RMIT that students support the introduction of best practice in the prevention, investigation and case-management of SASH.
